Spring into your creativity and be a light for your community Contest Dates - February 18 - March 20
Thank you for your interest in our FIRST Community Art Contest! We hope this will be the first of many! With the welcoming of Spring just around the corner, we want YOUR creative spirit to SPRING INTO ACTION! It is our intent to begin a community wide transition of healing and hope for health and togetherness through art. We hope you have some fun and feel good about sharing your inspiration with us!
Contest Requirements & FAQ’s
Contest Objective: To create a piece of art that represents a message of transitional & seasonal change that can heal our community. What needs to be included within your piece? Your piece should have some sort of sun, a path of some kind and an inspirational quote or phrase that represents: Transitional & seasonal changes that will help heal our community.
In light of the pandemic and so many people unable to live their lives “normally”, hug their families and friends, be there to support one another and enjoy the little things that they normally used to… Spring is approaching, people are excited to get out and start living again! Let this be your inspiration!
Materials
Your project must be 8 ½ x 11 in size, using paper, wood, cardboard, etc.
You can use any of the following mediums to create your piece: Paints: tempera, watercolor, acrylic; oil pastels, colored pencil, pen & ink, pencil or any combination of any of the above.
Categories for Judging
There will be THREE category options to choose from:
Kids: 5 yrs. – 11 yrs.
Pre/Teen: 12 –18 Yrs.
Adult
ONE winner will be chosen from EACH category
The judging will be done by our internal artists staff & volunteers & will be judged on the following criteria:
How well it matches the contest objective
If it meets the criteria outlined above

Kids: 5 yrs. – 11 yrs. – Winner will receive a $25 gift certificate to the studio
Pre/Teen: 12 –18 Yrs. – Winner will receive at $25 gift certificate to Michaels Crafts
Adult – Winner will receive a $25 gift certificate to Joe’s Pizzeria
Frequently Asked Questions Q: Can this only be on paper? A: It can be on any kind of 8 ½ x 11 surfaces, including but not limited to: Paper, cardboard, wood, canvas, etc, it just MUST fit the size threshold! Use your imagination! Q: What kind of things can we add? A: Anything! You may hot glue, paste, tape, or anything else onto your piece to make it as unique as you want! Q: Does it matter where the phrase/quote is? A: Nope! It may be anywhere on the piece, just make sure it represents: Transitional & seasonal change that can heal our community. Q: Can artwork be mailed? A: No, it must be personally brought to the studio during the times listed below WITH THE ATTACHED ENTRY FORM. Work must be handed in before March 21, 2022.
