Q: For a Childs birthday party, do parents typically drop off their children or stay at the studio during the party? Most of our parties are "drop & go" events where parents leave their children in the hands of the adults hosting the event. This policy is contingent on the age and/or needs of the guests attending the party. Toddlers and young children must have their guardians stay with them. Scrap U staff and volunteers do not assist children in the bathroom or with any of their clothing except tying of shoe laces and assisting with studio aprons. Q: Can I bring outside food and/or drink? Yes! WE ARE A NUT FREE FACILITY. You are welcome to bring in your own items, however, depending up the party package you have chosen, a fee may be applied for set up, paper products and clean up. Please let your party coordinator know in advance and we will be sure to set up accordingly. You will be allowed into the studio 15 min prior to the party to set up your items. Please note that it is typically our policy NOT to serve open cup beverages to children during an event. Therefore, if you bring in your own beverages for adults and/or children, they may be required to drink them in a designated location outside of the party area in order to avoid spillage and/or ruining of the art projects. Q: Are gratuities included in the party package? No. We do not add gratuity; however it is customary to tip your party coordinators. Please tip your host(s) in cash. Q: Do siblings or infants count as guests? A guest is someone who will participate in any aspects of the party, use a place setting and/or take place in the activity. A guarantee is required prior to your event. We cannot confirm that we will be able to accommodate any walk ins or add on to the guest list the day of your party. Q: Are accommodations available for the adults? Yes. Our studio has minimal seating for some adults who need to stay during the event. If you require additional accommodations for adult guests please speak with your party coordinator in advance, additional fees may be required. Q: Can we add on extra time or activities? Yes! You may add on an additional activity or time to your party package for an additional fee. Pricing is located within our party package information. Arrangements must be made in advance of your event date with your party coordinator. Q: Can we open our gifts during the party? Yes. Depending on the agenda and timing of your party, presents can be opened. If you would like to purchase additional time to your party and/or build that time into your event, please discuss with your party coordinator in advance. Q: What types of decorations do you provide? At this time we do not provide decorations for your party. We do sell latex balloons in advance that we can set up for your event. You are free to bring your own decorations as long as it is coordinated in advance with the party coordinator. Q: Is food included in your packages? We use Joe's Pizzeria in Hillsborough, NJ. Please note that pizza selections included within your packages are all plain. Should you require specialty pizzas or toppings, you will be charged for each additional pie purchased. Additionally, water bottles are included. Q: How should children dress for an art party? We are an art studio and children should dress accordingly. It is encouraged that you remind all of your guests of our dress policy. Although smocks are provided, children may soil their clothes, depending upon the type of art project they are working on. It is typically NOT recommended to wear white sweaters, tops or pants to the studio.
